The Mosquito layer aggregates validated and crowdsourced reports into monthly H3 cells. Risk bands follow configurable count thresholds.
How the verdict scales
We combine the risk band (none to high) with your personal sensitivity level (1 to 3). A higher level means smaller report counts trigger "Not clear" so allergic or travel-planners get earlier warnings.
Seasonality flag
The crawler can stamp whether a month is inside the temperate breeding season. Cold-month zeros therefore mean "no signal yet", not "mosquito-free forever".
Operational flow
Raw reports land in mosquito_reports_raw. The aggregation job
cron/aggregate_mosquito_grid.php rolls them into
mosquito_grid_monthly for heatmaps and the exposure API.
