Tuto ClearSpot: high-voltage towers and your distance

ClearSpot draws high-voltage transmission pylônes from public ODRÉ and OpenStreetMap data. The layer is optional: set High voltage towers in the sensitivity panel to a distance in metres (0 disables the module for the score and API). The verdict is not clear when the closest operational tower lies within that distance. This is a prudence map, not a certified field strength measurement.

Thresholds used in copy and product

  • 300 m — a common wide precaution band in public discussions; you can tune it down in sensitivity.
  • 150 m — intermediate stricter band.
  • 50 m — minimum meaningful built-structure proximity check.

Sources

France pylônes come from the ODRÉ portal (RTE inventory); EU coverage is supplemented via OSM Overpass queries stored under cron/queries/. Voltage colours on the map group circuits roughly by nominal kV class.
